Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Massage-Beginners and Advanced

This workshop will start off by answering/discussing the following questions
1. What is "Deep Tissue" massage? Is it just more pressure ?
2. ...Is it necessary?
3. What do clients mean when they ask me to go deeper?
4. How will it help my client?
An overview of the muscles and all related definitions will be discussed during the class.
All the information in this course comes from a background of Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Medical Massage, and Orthopedic Massage.
We will delve into:
-Asking the client the proper questions to find the location of their pain/problem.
-Extensive AROM and Resisted ROM "Muscle Testing" to find the actual muscle that's causing the pain
- Muscle testing of the Rotator Cuff muscles, Deltoids, Bicepts, Neck, Pectorals etc..
- Demo of working/opening Chest area first, and Subscapularis before going to back muscles
- Discuss Power of Intention, Assessing/Palpation intelligence
- Using the Scale System 1-10
- Overview Deep Tissue and best way to access tissue.
- Overview understanding of Trigger Points and referral patterns

This Chair Massage course is specifically designed for the back, neck, shoulders, the arms, hands and scalp. Seated or Chair Massage is also known as "On Site Chair Massage" .
Overcomes common objections_ Clothing does not need to be removed, ideal for the office, Very Popular Therapy.
Can be carried out in almost any setting from offices to the gym, shopping centers, at all types of events.
Many people use this therapy in offices, ideal because it is administered over clothing and is very effective for people with back and shoulder issues. One can even do Deep Tissue and Trigger Point work with longer sessions.
The massage movements and techniques can be adapted to what is suitable for your client. Furthermore the length of time for treatment is flexible making this more attractive to busy company employees .
Around 10 - 25 minutes is the usual length of time for this type of massage.
You will be shown a 8-10 min and a 15 min sequence used in setting where time is limited because of the number of employees at a Business. You will also be shown how to do a 15 to 30 min, or longer, Chair Massage. Demonstration and lots of hands on practice.
We will go over pricing, techniques used, parts of body to work on, contraindications, proper body mechanics, equipment needed , marketing info, and how to help move people into you bodywork practice.

Foot Reflexology Classes - 12 CEU Hours
Cost: $215 $26 discount if registered 1 weeks in advance.
Reflexology is based on the principles that reflex points in the feet are related to every organ in the body.
It is the art and science of stimulating the body's own healing forces by locating and stimulating certain points on the feet that affect organs or functions in distant parts of the body.
Points that when pressed, help activate the Immune system, help internal organs function normally, puts the body in Homeostasis, (Quote: the body can heal itself, we just have to get out of the way) and all for the better health and well being of your client !!
Activating reflex points not only releases congestion in the referral zone areas deep within the body (visceral) but also in those tight, hypertonic, ischemic areas you find while working your clients back. Improves Nerve and Blood supply.
- We will cover the History of Foot reflexology
- We will discuss Zone Therapy, Benefits and Contraindications.
- You will be show the various reflexology techniques, which includes thumb and finger walking.
- You will be shown how to work all the points on the feet that beneficially effect the body by relieving stress, congestion and sometimes emotional memories
- You be show how to do a normal 30 to 40 minute session when done by itself. A less than 30 min session in conjunction with a 1 hr Massage and how to incorporate a 30 min session with a 1 1/2 hr Massage & Reflexology session.
- There will be a lot of hands on practice in this workshop
- For the extra 3hrs you be bringing to the second class, Reflexology client documentation and taking a short exam of information from class that I will email you.
